- PAN card.
Here’s how to proceed
Go to Google Playstore and download SBI YONO. Make sure you give permission while installing on your smartphone.
Open the application and select the option “NEW TO SBI”.
Go to Open Savings Account, you will get two options.
- Digital Savings Account
- Insta Savings Account.
You can apply either one of them. But, for opening insta account click on the apply button down below.
Put your mobile number and email address. You can proceed without providing an email ID.
The process will be OTP (One-time password) base authentication mode.
Authenticate the same by providing OTP you just received.
The system will guide you to the next screen where you will have to create your password.
Why ID and password creation is required and for what purpose?
For example, while opening an Insta account somewhere along the process it fails due to network failure or undelivered OTP or whatever the reason it may be. You will be able to continue if you have an ID which will be your mobile number or your email ID.
Note that, the ID and the password you have created is not related to internet banking nor you can access YONO for transaction purpose. It’s only meant for account opening purposes.
Once you have created your ID and password, you need to complete the account opening process within 15 days, or else the data will get lost.
The system will prompt you to make a declaration about your tax along with the FATCA declaration. Accept the terms and conditions and proceed.
The next system will guide you to enter your aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to your registered number. Authenticate with the OTP and proceed.
Another 6 steps to complete the process.
- Aadhaar validation. YONO app will fetch your personal details from the UIDAI database and it will auto-populate on the screen.
- PAN details. Enter your PAN number on this page and proceed.
- Personal details. Provide your educational qualification, marital status, occupation and other details.
- Nomination. This step is for your nomination details. It’s mandatory to select a person to be your nominee.
- Home branch. Step 5 is crucial. At this moment you are going to put your home branch. The branch code may be found on the official website. Also, personalised ATM card details need to be fed.
- Generation of your account number. Your account number will be generated. Shortly after this, you will receive an SMS with a temporary ID and password for activation of your internet banking at YONO.
Complete YONO activation too. There you have an Insta Saving Account which has active internet banking and a debit is on your way.
The good thing is, the whole process is completely paperless and you can have your account instantly. This product will be very helpful to those in need considering the present Covid pandemic.
Stay safe and have SBI Insta Saving Account at your convenience.
